Mumbai, Nov 22: In a major blow to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, 10 members of his gang were arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch on Tuesday after being deported from the UAE.

They were earlier in the custody of Dubai Police. On November 7 and 8, nearly 30 members of Dawood's gang were arrested because of their alleged involvement in the murder of Raju bookie.

Out of these 30, 10 have been deported to Mumbai. They are now in the custody of the Crime Branch and are being questioned over their involvement various cases.

Some of the deported include Aarif Bhai Jaan - who is married to Chhota Shakeel's sister. However, when Mumbai Police Commissioner A N Roy was questioned as to whether Aarif had indeed been deported, he side-stepped it, preferring not to give a direct reply.

Unconfirmed sources say that others deported include Zamaar Haji, Anjum Kherwani, Salim Qureshi and Qayum -- who was said to be involved in the 1993 bomb blasts, allegedly masterminded by Dawood.
