Udupi: Missing Eshika Shetty (13) traced in Mumbai

Udupi: Eshika expected to be released on or after Dec 8

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Updated: Dec 7

Udupi, Dec 7: Eshika S Shetty (13), an eighth standard student of a hostel of Sharada Residential School here, who had gone missing on the evening of November 15, is likely to be brought to her home on or after Monday December 8. It is said that Eshika, who was addicted to television series, had left behind a letter in which she said she had been enamoured by television actor, Faisal Khan.

A team of police personnel deputed to bring her from Mumbai has confirmed that she is lodged in Dongri State Home near Chatrapathi Shivaji Terminus railway station in Mumbai. The police team could not gather more information as the said facility remains closed on Saturday and Sunday. They got information that the railway police took Eshika, who was found to be standing clueless in the railway station, into custody, sent her to the state home as above. During her questioning, Eshika had provided the telephone number of her school, on the basis of which the state home contacted the school on Friday.

A team of four police personnel from here, which was deputed as per the instructions of the district superintendent of police on the basis of suspicion, is already in Mumbai since November 16 in connection with this case, But the team could not personally visit the state home and talk to the girl student because of holidays and also a rule that forbids men from entering the state home.

The state home has to present the girl in the court on Monday and after permission is granted, handover her to Karnataka police after completing formalities. The Karnataka police then have to present her in the state high court before bringing her back home.

With the tracing of the girl, her parents, police, as well as school authorities have heaved a sigh of relief.

Earlier Report: Dec 6

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (UM)

Udupi, Dec 6: Eshika Shetty who had gone missing from her school hostel several days ago has been reportedly traced in Mumbai.

Eshika (13), a student of Sharada Residential School, had gone missing from the hostel on the evening of November 15. Following her disappearance, parents and locals staged a protest in the school premises, and the police stepped up the search.

It was suspected that she had gone off to Mumbai as she was believed to have keen interest in films, music and dance, and aspired to become an actress.

The Mumbai police are understood to have contacted their counterparts in Udupi and informed that Eshika was found in a government lodging near Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus station. Udupi police along with Eshika's mother Yashoda are on their way to Mumbai and she would be brought back to town in a couple of days, sources said.

The course of events that led to Eshika's disappearance and other details about how she was found are not yet known.

Thank God that Eshika Shetty is found safe and alive. I would like readers to pray for her future and not make any comments both good and bad. She has to take the advice and guidance of her parents, councilors and teachers for a better life. Then only she will find a better life as she is still young. Anything could have happened to her when she left her boarding school without informing anybody. She should pray to God to lead her into a better life as she has a bright future ahead of her with good hard working parents in a country far away from her.

I pity the parents. Thanks to Almighty that the girl is safe and traced. She can choose her modeling/acting career through her parents guidance and not this way. Parents need a hug (just imagine what they must have gone through) and girl needs one tight slap right now for her stupid act.

@ Clara F.kuwait,as you say a tight slap to her should be given. It is the wrong way at this time. When so done you will never see the Girl again.Think she was in Boarding,13years old,not yet realized what is a Cinema world and real world, parents are far away in gulf.so she should be guided now to a real world, someone to talk not to sit in front of tv most of the time. Why did the Police didnt think of taking two or atleast one Lady Police with them?Afterall she is a minor Girl.very unthoughtful.Going to Mumbai and staying in front of Girls hostel on wekend. Here tactik should be used with Girl.First they should just hug from parents and praise her for not committing any nonsense.later ask her why she did it and Details explain she can do her dancing or any other Cinema carreer after completion of School, because without School completion nothing functions. It was a big adventure for her.Slapping was previously Now it doesnt function and should not be done(prohibited).

If her intention to become an actor, then I strongly suggest her parents to discontinue her further education and enroll her in to film academy to pursue her dream career. Parent should assist her to achieve whatever she want to achieve. Chasing the ultimate dream which matters the most than continuing the education in convent with lack of interest. Let her signature will turn into an Autograph.

It’s a myth that only higher education is a key to success. In the past a good education was the equivalent of a winning lottery ticket. Now time changed but our mind set not changed. Today we would not have known Sachin Tendulkar if his parents forced to send him medical college to study MBBS. He gone against the wishes of his parents at right time and become successful. Most of the successful people in this world are not highly educated. Success always comes from failures.

She might be upset with some problem so she ran away from School. My request to all young girls is that never do such things The parents and schol authorities have suffered a lot. Please discuss your problems with parents and teachers. There is no problem in this world that cant be solved through dialogues. Anyway I am happy shes back. Praise the Lord May God bless everyone. few things are coming out from the incident. first upon offcourse some lapse in school security. next the kid has not been noty properly taken care by the parents. she must be living in dream. Proper care and love is missing in her life. Parents just run away from the responsibility just by sending them to hostel.

This is the real proof & difference between Hired people and Own people.

Hired people do the job only for money and Own people - parents do it with love.

Before commenting about this girl, readers here, first concentrate on your own children.

Thank God, Eshika is safe and congratulations to the police personnel who have helped in tracing Eshika & conveyed the message to the Udupi police.

Eshika & her parents requires some good rest. Child is more important than anything, including her studies. I wish Eshika & her parents together spend some time in temple, do prayers and meditation & come out peacefully as a new person.

    Dear Readers,

Please do not comment unless you know the exact situation under which she ran away. Comments column is not a platform to give vent to your wild imagination. Do you know her family background? Do you know that she has been in the boarding school from 6th standard. Have you read her death note? If any child is deprived of parental love and attention, it would do the same as Eshika has done. When something like this happens pray for the victim and do not indulge in character assassination.
