10 Al Qaeda militants killed in Yemen

Sanaa, Dec 6 (IANS): At least 10 Al Qaeda militants were killed and three others injured Saturday in a US drone attack in Yemen's Shabwa province.

The drones fired two missiles at a gathering of 13 mid-level Al Qaeda members in the Obidan valley, an official told Xinhua.

The identities of the victims have not been determined yet.

Last month, the US special military forces failed to rescue American photojournalist, Luke Somers, who was kidnapped by the Al Qaeda from Sanaa more than a year ago and is suspected to be held hostage in southeastern Yemen.

Thursday, the White House acknowledged that Luke had been moved by the terrorists to somewhere else before the rescue operation.

The Al Qaeda has warned Washington in a video not to try military operations again, and gave three days to meet its unspecified demands.
