Rahul Gandhi condoles deaths in Kashmir attacks


New Delhi, Dec 6 (IANS): Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi Saturday paid tribute to the martyrs of the terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and condoled the deaths.

"I salute the martyrs of the armed and police forces and convey my deepest condolences to the families of the civilians killed in the deplorable and deliberate terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir," Rahul Gandhi said in a statement.

"Being escalated from across the border in Pakistan, these destabilizing attempts need to be crushed and the Congress party stands firm with the people of the state and government agencies in their efforts to counter terror and terrorists," he said.

Twenty one people, including eight soldiers, were killed in a string of attacks across Kashmir Friday.

The attacks came in the midst of the assembly polls in the state.
