Man held with fake currency in Bengal


Kolkata, Dec 8 (IANS): The BSF Monday arrested a man and seized fake Indian currency notes with a face value of Rs. 10 lakh from him near the Bangladesh border in West Bengal's Malda district.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the troopers intercepted Ibrahim Miya (27) near Gopalnagar border outpost and recovered the fake notes from his possession.

The accused and the fake notes have been handed over to the local police.

The BSF' South Bengal Frontier has seized over Rs. 1.5 crore in fake Indian currency notes (FICN) in the current year.
