Antique idol stolen from Himachal temple


Shimla, Dec 9 (IANS): An antique idol of Lord Raghunath was stolen from Himachal Pradesh's Kullu town early Tuesday, police said.

The main idol was found missing from the Lord Raghunath temple, about 200 km from here.

The idol was antique, Kullu legislator Maheshwar Singh who is also the chief representative of Lord Raghunath temple told IANS.

Official sources said last year also some jewellery and ornaments were stolen from the temple.

The Lord Raghunath temple dates back to 1637 when King Jagat Singh ruled Kullu.
