London, Dec 10 (IANS): British Indian businessman Shrien Dewani, who was acquitted Monday by a South African court of charges of ordering his wife's murder, arrived back in Britain Wednesday.
Dewani, 33, was accused of ordering the murder of his wife, 28-year-old Anni Dewani, who was shot on the outskirts of Cape Town in November 2010 during the course of their honeymoon.
Monday, Deputy Judge President Jeanette Traverso of the Western Cape High Court dismissed the case against him, after describing evidence from prosecution witnesses as "riddled with contradictions", Mirror online reported.
He left London airport through a side entrance which was guarded by police, before being driven away in a black car shortly before 7 a.m.
He has not been home since he was extradited to South Africa to face trial in April this year.
