Two militants killed in Philippines clash


Manila, Dec 10 (IANS): Two militants were killed in a clash with government troops in southern Philippines Wednesday, the military said.

The army's 45th Infantry Battalion was ambushed by two unidentified militants in Datu Unsay, Maguidanao province, Wednesday afternoon, Xinhua reported citing Joann Petinglay, public affairs officer of the 6th Infantry Division.

Both militants were killed as soldiers fired back. The casualties on the side of the troops are unclear.

The identities of the attackers are being probed.
