Former councillor shot dead in Ghaziabad


Ghaziabad, Dec 10 (IANS): A former councillor of the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation was shot dead Wednesday morning in Vasundhara near national capital Delhi.

Pradeep Chaudhary, 35, a resident of Sahibabad, was outside a local gymnasium when three persons on a motorcycle reached the spot and fired four shots at him after a brief conversation.

Chaudhary had a criminal record and had been associated with different political parties at different times. At present, he was associated with the Samajwadi Party. He had represented Sahibabad ward and was also into property dealing among other businesses.

His wife had also been a municipal councillor.

In the complaint filed with police, his younger brother has named three local people with whom Chaudhary had a property dispute.
