New Delhi, Dec 10 (IANS): A Delhi court has sentenced two men to five years in jail for attempting to kill their sister's mother-in-law.

Additional Sessions Judge Sanjay Sharma Tuesday sentenced Gul Mohmad alias Gullu, 28, and Ali Mohmad, 26, to five years rigorous imprisonment for attempting to kill 45-year- old Samina, who is the mother-in-law of their sister Shabana.

According to the prosecution, Gul and Ali fired gun shots at Samina in east Delhi's Yamuna Vihar Dec 13, 2009. The woman suffered two superficial lacerations on the scapular region on the back side due to the gun shots.

The court held that both the men fired the gun shots with the intention to kill Samina.
