Woman attacked with acid in Srinagar


Srinagar, Dec 11 (IANS): A young woman, who is a law student, was attacked with acid here Thursday, leaving her in a critical condition, police said.

Police said the 21-year-old woman was attacked by unidentified assailants in Nowshehra locality of Srinagar city Thursday afternoon.

"The woman has been shifted to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura where doctors have described her condition as critical," a senior police officer told IANS here.

Police said the victim is a student of a law college in the city.

"A manhunt has been started to nab the culprits...," the officer said.
