Snapdeal acquires gifting recommendation platform


New Delhi, Dec 11 (IANS): E-commerce portal Snapdeal has acquired Wishpicker.com that offers users gift options based on intelligent recommendations, a company statement said here Thursday.

"At Snapdeal.com our focus is to leverage technology to create life-changing experiences for buyers and sellers. We are investing in strengthening our technology platform," said Rohit Bansal, co-founder of Snapdeal.com, in the statement.

"In a short span of time, Wishpicker.com has made it easy for people to choose right gifts for all occasions. With Snapdeal's scale and commitment to making ecommerce easy for all, our technology will be infinitely useful in helping millions of users make smart shopping decisions," said Apurv Bansal and Prateek Rathore, co-founders of Wishpicker.com.

This is Snapdeal's fifth acquisition, the statement added. The company however did not reveal the deal size.
