10 injured in blast near Pakistani political party's office


Islamabad, Dec 11 (IANS): At least 10 people were injured when a bomb went off near the office of a political party in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province Thursday afternoon, media reported.

Xinhua citing Express TV reported that the incident happened at about 2.45 p. m. when the bomb exploded near the office of Balochistan National Party (BNP), located in Sibi district of the province.

Police said a meeting was going on at the site when several militants detonated the bomb fixed on a motorbike parked on the roadside with a remote controller.

Those injured included BNP activists and passersby, who were shifted to a nearby hospital.

The office was partially destroyed in the attack while several neighbouring buildings were also damaged.

Two vehicles and four motorbikes were destroyed in the blast.

No group has claimed responsibility yet.
