Indian found dead in Singapore forests


Singapore, Dec 12 (IANS): An Indian was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a forested area near a foreign workers' dormitory in this city state Friday morning.

The body of Yeacop Joseph, 35, who had been a general worker with a construction company for about six months, was found by other workers of the dormitory at around 6.30 a.m. Friday, the Straits Times reported citing the site supervisor.

The supervisor, who declined to be named, added that Joseph had not reported for work Thursday.

Another worker, K. Kumar, 31, who is Joseph's relative, said that Joseph's wife had tried calling him Thursday evening but he did not pick up the phone, according to the report.

On Friday morning, Kumar was notified that Joseph had been found dead.

Police said they received a call at 7.08 a.m. When they arrived they found a man motionless at the location. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Police added that they are investigating the unnatural death.
