New Delhi-bound Poorva Express derails

Kolkata, Dec 14 (IANS): Twelve coaches of the New Delhi-bound Poorva Express Sunday derailed soon after departing from Howrah station. However, no one was injured, a railway official said.

"The train had just started to pick up speed when it derailed (at Liluah). A major tragedy was averted because of the slow speed," Eastern Railway General Manager R.K. Gupta said.

"Twelve coaches derailed but nobody has been injured. We have ordered a probe," he said.
