Norway's Fannemel wins ski jump World Cup


Moscow, Dec 14 (IANS): Norway's Anders Fannemel lifted his first ever ski jumping World Cup title at Nizhny Tagil in Russia.

Fannemel recorded a total of 263.1 points after jumping 132 metres and 133 metres Saturday, reports Xinhua.

Austria's Gregor Schlierenzauer took silver while Germany's Severin Freund was third.

Four-time Olympic champion Simon Ammann, the winner of two rounds this season, opted not to take part in Saturday's event.

Fannemel now tops the overall World Cup standings after six rounds with 350 points, ahead of Slovenian Peter Prevc and Czech Republic's Roman Koudelka.
