Dineshwar Sharma to be new IB chief


New Delhi, Dec 14 (IANS): IPS officer Dineshwar Sharma will be the next director of Intelligence Bureau (IB), an official statement said Sunday.

The appointments committee of the cabinet has appointed Sharma, who was working with the IB as special director, as officer on special duty and he will succeed incumbent S.A. Ibrahim, who retires Dec 31.

Sharma, a 1979 batch Kerala cadre Indian Police Service officer, will hold office for a period of two years from the date of taking charge or further orders, whichever is earlier.
