Former Brazil striker in talks with Mexico's Tigres

Rio de Janeiro, Dec 15 (IANS): Fluminense and former Brazil striker Rafael Sobis is in talks about a move to Mexican outfit Tigres, his agent has confirmed.

The Rio de Janeiro club is understood to be willing to release Sobis after he scored just three goals in Brazil's top flight this year, reports Xinhua.

"His priority is Fluminense because they believed in him when everybody wrote him off," the 29-year-old's agent Jorge Machado told O Globo.

"There are several clubs interested in him but we are waiting to see what the club says. We also want what is best for Rafael and that is a three-year contract. If Fluminense can't offer that we are going to look for another club."

The former Real Betis player joined Fluminense in 2011 after unhappy spells at Al Jazira and Internacional.

He has been capped eight times by Brazil and was a member of the country's 2008 Olympic team which took the bronze medal in Beijing.
