Three lives lost due to PTI shutdown

Islamabad, Dec 15 (IANS): A 15-year-old boy lost his life Monday in an ambulance because of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) closure of roads in Lahore, media reported.

According to the district administration, the boy was being taken to hospital in an ambulance but was unable to pass due to blockades put up by PTI during their protest against the government, Geo News reported.

The relatives of the boy raised slogans against the PTI in protest.

According to fresh reports, there were two other incidents in which two girls, including a newborn, also died on their way to hospital because of road blockades due to PTI protests.

PTI's earlier shutdown in Faisalabad Dec 8 resulted in the death of a party activist during violent clashes with PML-N supporters and police.

The shutdowns are aimed at forcing an inquiry into alleged rigging in the May 2013 general election.
