Media attacked by PTI protestors

Islamabad, Dec 15 (IANS): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protestors Monday targeted the media, manhandling journalists as they covered their protest live from the Punjab’s provincial capital Lahore, media reported.

The PTI workers hurled bottles towards a Geo News team and chanted hostile slogans, as the media team was trying to cover the PTI’s protest.

Defying clear instructions from PTI chief Imran Khan to desist from misbehaving with mediapersons, the party’s activists relentlessly harassed the media, Geo News reported.

The PTI workers’ resorting to such misdemeanour against the media is something that has become a matter of routine as a similar situation was witnessed in Faisalabad which was later repeated in Karachi and now in Lahore.

As the last reports came in, the PTI workers continued to besiege the DSNG van of Geo News while hurling stones, bottles and whatever they could lay their hands on.
