Karkala, Nov 30: A failure in love relationship resulted in a rickshaw driver ending his life by consuming poison at Miyar near here on Wednesday November 29.

Latif (26), son of Hussain from Miyar was in love with a girl from Nelligudde for sometime.  However, there was strong opposition for this relationship by girl's mother.  Depressed by this Latif is said to have consumed poison on Tuesday.  But when his fellow rickshaw drivers saw him suffering, they admitted to hospital.  But he breathed his last without responding to medication at Wenlock Hospital in Mangalore on Wednesday.

Latif was earlier working in a poultry farm at Nelligudde owned by Christian man.  It was during this time that he fell in love with the daughter of his employer.  But once he left the job, he could not meet the girl often.  Meanwhile, girl's mother came to know about this and she opposed.  She even made arrangements that her daughter could never meet Latif again.

Depressed by all these developments, Latif ended his life by consuming poison.  Karkala town police have registered a case in this regard.
