Eight Taliban militants killed in Afghanistan


Kabul, Dec 17 (IANS): Eight Taliban militants were killed during a military operation in Afghanistan's Badakhshan province, Xinhua reported Wednesday.

Following a confirmed tip-off, troops raided Katiba village overnight and killed eight Taliban militants while several others were injured, a senior provincial police official Abdul Qadir said.

Police said the operation would continue until the village is cleared of the militants in the province, 315 km northeast of Afghan capital of Kabul.
