Mangalore Dec 1: Three-day-long "Konkani Yuva Mahotsav" began on a grand note at Kalaangann on Friday December 1 morning.  The cultural fest has jointly been organized by Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy in association with Konkani Yuva Awaz and Mandd Sobhann.  Konkani Yuva Mahotsav is part of 'Tevllo Dabazo' celebrations by the Academy.

'Tevllo Dabazo'  is being celebrated on the occasion of Mandd Sobhannm completing 20 and Kalaangann five years in rendering yeoman's service to Konkani language and culture and also 60th monthly theatre which will be staged at Kalaagann on Sunday December 3.

Mulki-Moodbidri MLA K Abhaychandra Jain inaugurated Yuva Mahotsav while Gautam Pai, executive director of Udayavani inaugurated 'Daiz Pradarxan', an exhibition of traditional as well as antique things.

A new Konkani music album ‘Punov’ was released by Gautam Pai while Abhaychandra Jain released the Christmas special issue of 'Mithr' Konkani weekly on the occasion.

Konkanni academy registrar S H Shivarudrappa, Konkani Yuva Awaz president Roshan Castelino, Maandd Sobhann president Louis J Pinto, Konkani academy president Eric Ozario were also present on the dais.

H S Shivarudrappa welcomed the gathering while Charan Mallya proposed the vote of thanks.  Arun Ajekar compered the programme.
