From Sanjay Borkar in Margao for Daijiworld News Network - Goa

Margao, Dec 1:  "Goa Yuwa Mahotsav",  a two-day festival to promote the talents of youth by giving them a plank for their art and enthusiasm as part of the yearly schedule will be held in January, in Margao to resound the Mantra of Goan Identity.

Art and culture minister Digamber Kamat will preside as chairman of reception committee. This festival being celebrated over the past 12 years was first held in Margao and is now coming back the same city, after having been held by turns in in different corners of Goa. It was held in Nageshim, Sattari, Curchorem, Sawayverem, Canacona, Pilar and other places of Goa.

As per the rules and regulations of the festival, the Konkani Bhasha Mandal organizer of the festival appoints the local MLA as chairman of reception committee and the additional work of co-ordination is given to local participant group of area. This year "Modgaoncho Jagor’ group will play this role.

Every year most of the colleges and cultural groups participate in this festival. About 5,000 youth converge at the event every year.

Konkani Bhasha Mandal president Purnanand Chari has appealed to the youth of Goa to be fully prepared for the event.
