Government pushing bills without following norms: Congress

New Delhi, Dec 18 (IANS): The Congress Thursday accused the government of pushing through bills without following established norms.

Leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said the government was bringing in bills without discussing them in the business advisory committee.

The committee is headed by the speaker.

"We have no issues with their passage but they should have been discussed," he said.

He said the government is bulldozing the bills on the strength of its majority in the Lok Sabha it but should be respectful of procedures.

Kharge was supported by Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and Trinamool Congress' Saugata Roy.

This prompted Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to assure the leaders that she would look into the issue.
