Hyderabad records season's lowest temperature


Hyderabad, Dec 18 (IANS): Cold conditions prevailed in Telangana Thursday, with Adilabad recording the lowest minimum temperature of four degrees Celsius. Temperature in other areas too were below normal.

Hyderabad recorded the season's lowest temperature at 9.2 degree Celsius Thursday.

Adilabad in north Telangana was the coldest place in Telangana, with the mercury plummeting to four degree Celsius, an all-time record.

The lowest temperature in Adilabad was 5.2 on Jan 26, 2006, an official at Hyderabad Meteorological Centre told IANS.

The Met office has forecast that cold wave conditions will prevail in Telangana three-four days.

The cold wave conditions, especially in north Telangana, has affected normal life.

In Hyderabad, the mercury dropped to 9.2 degree, two degrees below normal. People living on footpaths and daily wage workers were the worst hit.

The met office said Ramagundam, Nizamabad and Medak also recorded minimum temperature of nine degrees.

The meteorologists attributed the cold conditions to the dry northerly winds flowing into Telangana.
