Islamabad, Dec 19 (IANS): Four Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants, including a key commander, were killed Friday during a raid carried out by Pakistan Rangers in the port city of Karachi.
The raid was carried out in Musharraf Colony in which a key TTP commander Abid Machhar was killed and one Pakistan Rangers' officer was also injured due to a grenade explosion, security personnel said.
Machhar is said to have been involved in various incidents of bombing, including suicide bombings in Karachi. Official said that he was planning another terror attack in the city when the raid was carried out.
The raid came three days after the TTP carried out the deadliest ever attack in the country on a public school in the country's Peshawar city, killing 148 people, including 132 children.
