Cold wave conditions continue in Rajasthan


Jaipur, Dec 19 (IANS): Cold wave conditions continued to prevail in desert state of Rajasthan with minimum temperatures hovering two to four degrees below normal.

Some of the cities also saw drop in maximum temperatures. Udaipur was the coldest in the plains with a minimum temperature of 4.2 degrees Celsius, down four degrees from the average temperature. Maximum temperature here was also three degrees below average at 22.1 degrees.

In the hills, Mount Abu was the coldest at 3 degrees, down 2 degrees. Maximum temperature here was recorded at 19 degrees.

State capital Jaipur was chilly at 7.4 degrees, almost two degrees below average. The city's maximum temperature was 24 degrees, average for the season.

Pilani at 6.3 degrees, Kota at 8.5 and Ajmer at 9.5 degrees were also cold.

"The temperatures will hover around the saame levels and some of the cities might witness a partly cloudy sky in the next 24-48 hours," a meteorological department official said.
