Himachal to see slight rise in temperature but snow in store


Shimla, Dec 20 (IANS): The hills of Himachal Pradesh Saturday saw a slight rise in the temperatures due to prevailing dry weather, but the Met Office forecast rain and more snowfall from Sunday.

"There are chances of more rainfall and snowfall in the state Dec 21 and 22," a meteorological office statement said.

Most of the prominent tourist towns like Shimla, Narkanda, Kufri and Manali may witness snowfall, it added.

Picturesque tourist resort Shimla and Manali had experienced snow Dec 13-14.

Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest place in the state with a low of minus 9.5 degrees.

Shimla recorded the minimum temperature at 5.7, while it was minus 1.8 degrees Kalpa in Kinnaur district, minus 3.6 degrees in Manali and 4.2 degrees in Dharamsala.
