New Delhi, Dec 23 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday greeted Japanese Emperor Akihito on his birthday.

"Birthday greetings to His Majesty Emperor Akihito of Japan. I pray for his good health. May he continue to inspire people of Japan and the world," he said in a tweet.

Emperor Akihito was born Dec 23, 1933.
