'Mamata will end up defending herself in court'

Kolkata, Dec 23 (IANS): Asserting that pointing fingers at the CBI probe will not absolve the Trinamool Congress of its involvement in the Saradha scam, BJP secretary S.N. Singh Tuesday claimed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will end up defending herself in the court.

Addressing a party rally organised against the "Trinamool government's corruption", Singh also claimed time was running out for Trinamool general secretary Mukul Roy as the CBI has already netted several of his party leaders including MPs Kunal Ghosh, Srinjoy Bose and state transport minister Madan Mitra.

"Didi (Banerjee) pointing fingers at the CBI or blaming the BJP will not absolve you from the Saradha scam loot which left lakhs of people ruined. You may try to defend yourself in the field of politics but time is not far away when you will end up defending yourself in a court of law," Singh, the party observer for the state said.

Now famous for his "Bhag Mamata Bhag" (run Mamata run) jibe, Singh reiterated that 2015 will be the year for Bhag Mukul Bhag claiming that Roy had earlier met Saradha chief and scam king pin Sudipta Sen.

"Whenever I say bhag Mamata bhag or bhag Mukul bhag, she (Banerjee) gets angry. But Didi, why blame me; it's the deed of your leaders that is compelling them to run," said Singh.

"It's not me rather their own MP Kunal Ghosh says Mukul met Sudipta Sen at his office. Even Sen's driver Arvind Chauhan too has made the same claim. Now it's few days for the year to end and with 2015 arriving it will be bhag Mukul bhag and eventually in 2016 it will be bhag Mamata bhag," added Singh.
