Mangalore Dec 7: The first graduation day of St Joseph’s Engineering College, Vamanjoor will be held on Saturday December 9 in the college premises.
Fr Valerian D’Souza, director of SJEC, speaking at a press conference said the first batch of the college who completed their engineering studies in July 2006 will be presented with their graduation certificates. The toppers will be given gold medals on the occasion.
He further said that the college has secured 96.5% with 168 students out of 174 passing out with flying colours. Among them 68 have been placed in various companies under campus selection.
Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza of Mangalore will preside over the graduation ceremony while UGC regional director Dr Manju Singh will be the chief guest. VTU registrar Dr Shiva Kumar, NIT-K registrar Dr Aloysius H Sequeira, Mervin Fernandes, vice-president and business head of Finacle Infosys Technologies Ltd, Albert D’Souza of Printania Offset Pvt Ltd, Mumbai, St Aloysius College dean Prof Edmund Frank, and former principal of SJEC Dr Sudhakar Shetty will be the guests of honour.
