Cabinet pays tribute to Assam militant attack victims


New Delhi, Dec 24 (IANS): The union cabinet Wednesday paid homage to the victims of terror attacks in Assam.

The cabinet meet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, observed two minutes silence as a mark of tribute to the victims.

"The cabinet met this (Wednesday) morning under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and paid homage to the victims of the cowardly attacks in Assam yesterday (Tuesday)," an official statement said.

"The cabinet members observed two minutes silence as a mark of respect to the victims," it said.

The death toll in the attacks by Bodo militants on unarmed tribals has risen to 65 Wednesday.
