Jaipur, Dec 24 (IANS): Cold wave conditions continued to prevail in Rajasthan Wednesday as the minimum and maximum temperatures across the state were below average.
Mount Abu, the only hill station in the desert state, recorded four degrees Celsius, one degree below average. Pilani, Alwar and Bikaner recorded 4.8, 4.9 and 5.8 degrees Celsius respectively.
Jaisalmer's temperature, too, was three notches below average at 5.4 degrees Celsius. The state capital Jaipur recorded 6.6 degrees Celsius, one degree below average.
Churu at 6 and Barmer at 8.6 degrees Celsius were cold as well.
"Both minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to fall further in next 24-48 hours. Ground frost would also occur in some of the places in north Rajasthan while dense fog is also likely to occur in some of the areas of the state," a weather department official said.
Train services were affected in some parts of the state due to fog.
