Himachal official held on bribery charge


Shimla, Dec 24 (IANS): The vigilance and anti-corruption bureau in Himachal Pradesh Wednesday arrested a government functionary while he was accepting a bribe of Rs.12,000, a statement said.

Excise and taxation officer Jyoti Swaroop Sharma was caught red-handed in Baddi, the state's industrial hub in Solan district, an official statement said.

He was booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
