US drones kill seven militants in Pakistan


Islamabad, Dec 26 (IANS): At least seven militants were killed Friday in two separate US drone attacks in Pakistan's North Waziristan region.

Intelligence sources said the first strike took place near the Shawal Valley, where Punjabi Taliban commander Qari Imran was targeted, Dawn online reported.

The strike killed four militants but there was no confirmation whether Qari was killed in the attack.

The second strike took place in the same area where two missiles were fired at a compound, leaving three suspected militants of Uzbek origin dead.
