Former gurudwara sewadar found murdered in Gurgaon


Gurgaon, Dec 30 (IANS): A 30-year-old former sewadar at a gurudwara here was Tuesday found murdered on Old Railway Road, police said.

The victim was identified as Raghubir Singh, hailing from Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh.

"The deceased was a sewadar (helper) in the kitchen section at Gurudwara Sri Singh Sabha near Sabzi Mandi in the old city. He left the job nearly a year ago and arrived in the city on the occasion of Gurpurab a few days back," police officer Jagdish Rai told IANS.

The victim's body was found on the roadside near Dhobhi Ghat. His face was smashed with a stone that was found near the body.

"He was identified by the Adhaar Card that was issued on the address of a colony in West Delhi," he said.

The deceased's two brothers, who are also sewadars at gurudwaras in Delhi, told the police that he (victim) was in search of a new job.
