Australia light plane crash: Bodies recovered

Sydney, Dec 31 (IANS): The bodies of the pilot and a passenger were found Wednesday in the cockpit of the plane which had ditched into the sea off the southern island state of Tasmania.

The plane - a Cessna 172 - had two men on board when it nosedived Monday into the sea near rugged coastline in treacherous weather.

Acting Assistant Commissioner for Tasmania Police, Tony Cerritelli, said divers found the body around midday, Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reported.

One was pilot Sam Langford, 29, another a 61-year-old cameraman who was covering the Sydney to Hobart yacht race.
