Pakistan, Afghanistan determined to eliminate terrorism: Sharif


Islamabad, Dec 31 (IANS): Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Wednesday stressed on the importance of Pakistan-Afghanistan relations, emphasising that both countries were determined to eliminate terrorism from their countries.

During the meeting with an 18-member Afghan parliamentary delegation that called on him here, Sharif emphasised that both countries were determined to enhance political ties and eliminate terrorism, The News International reported.

Sharif said a peaceful and stable Afghanistan was in the interest of Pakistan. "Both nations want to achieve peace and stability in the region," the prime minister was quoted as saying.

Sharif spoke of the desire of both nations to enhance trade relations, stating that exchange of delegations were useful in bringing people closer.

He also informed the Afghan delegation of operation Zarb-e-Azb, telling them that it had been successful in destroying the network of terrorists.
