Mangalore, Dec 13: The police investigating the Sukhanand Shetty murder case achieved a major breakthrough with the arrest of 7 persons in a hotel at Sakleshpur near Hassan here on Tuesday December 12.  The sources said that out of the 7, three persons were directly involved in the murder.

The police raided a lodge on Azad Road in Maheshwari Layout at Sakleshpur based on a tip-off that three persons from Suratkal were hiding there.  The raid was conducted early in the morning and police arrested another 4 persons who were in the same room.  But some sources said that these 4 have not been involved in the murder.

All of the arrested were working in hotels and other places in Sakleshpur.  One of the arrested has a wound on his hand.  Police suggested that he might have directly been involved with the murder.  He had joined a nearby hotel only a few days ago for work.
