Mangalore, Dec 13: The police investigating the Sukhanand Shetty murder case achieved a major breakthrough with the arrest of 7 persons in a hotel at Sakleshpur near Hassan here on Tuesday December 12. The sources said that out of the 7, three persons were directly involved in the murder.
The police raided a lodge on Azad Road in Maheshwari Layout at Sakleshpur based on a tip-off that three persons from Suratkal were hiding there. The raid was conducted early in the morning and police arrested another 4 persons who were in the same room. But some sources said that these 4 have not been involved in the murder.
All of the arrested were working in hotels and other places in Sakleshpur. One of the arrested has a wound on his hand. Police suggested that he might have directly been involved with the murder. He had joined a nearby hotel only a few days ago for work.
