Pakistan sets up bench to hear pleas of death row convicts

Islamabad, Jan 2 (IANS): Pakistan's Supreme Court Friday constituted a bench to hear appeals of prisoners sentenced to death.

The proceedings will take place Jan 5-9, Geo TV reported.

The bench will be headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa.

The Pakistani government has liften the moratorium on death penalty in terrorism-related cases in the wake of the Taliban attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar Dec 16 which resulted in the loss of over 140 lives, most of them students.
