Afghan president invites Pakistan for security talks


Islamabad, Jan 2 (IANS): Afghan President Ashraf Ghani Friday suggested Pakistan-Afghanistan talks on security issues, media reported.

Ghani invited Pakistani officials for talks on the issue in Kabul Jan 8, Geo TV reported.

Earlier on Wednesday, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif telephoned Ghani to discuss bilateral relations and regional security.

According to the prime minister's spokesperson, the ongoing operation against terrorists at the border was also discussed during the telephone call.
