Alester Jesvin D’Souza of St Aloysius English Medium School, Urwa here has qualified for the national level sports meet to be held in Mumbai.

Son of Antony and Janet D’Souza of Bondel, Alester has many achievements under his belt. In the individual championship for in the under-14 boys category at the taluk-level sports meet he won the gold in 600 mts, 400 mts and silver in 200 mts.

He has also won the gold in 600 mts and 400 mts and also silver medals in the same categories at the state-level Ekalavya sports meet held in Moodbidri here recently and hence qualified for the national-level championship.

Edmon Antony D’Almeida Shines at Ekalavya Sports Meet

Edmon Antony D’Almeida, an eighth standard student of the St Aloysius High School, Kodialbail here and son of Valerian and Blanch D’Almeida of Urwa won the bronze in 100 mts and 200 mts while securing the first place in 4x100 mts relay at the Ekalavya sports meet.

In the under-14 boys category at the taluk-level sports meet, he won the gold in 100 mts and 200 mts and silver in 400 mts track events while at the district level meet, he bagged the first place in 100 mts and 200 mts individual track events.
