Thiya Samaja western zone division holds tenth anniversary celebrations

Mumbai, Jan 3: “The members of Thiya Samaja are decent people and are an inspiration to the life of coexistence. Such feeling should grow and remain throughout the life of everybody. The society will flourish only when the people become humane. The women should be educated for the purpose. Women alone are able to preserve culture and tradition and introduce it to the youth. Only women can form a strong society. So the strength of women should be influenced for the formation of a nation”, said Bantara Sangha Mumbai women's wing president Lata Jayarama Shetty.

She was speaking after lighting the traditional lamp and inaugurating the tenth anniversary celebrations of Thiya Samaja Mumbai at Dr M Vishweshwaraya hall in Matunga west on Sunday evening, December 28.


In the programme presided by Thiya Samaja Mumbai president Chandrashekar R Belchada, Billavara Association Mumbai women's wing president Shakuntala K Kotian, Devadiga Sangha Mumbai women's wing president Bharathi S Nittekar, Safalya Seva Sangha Mumbai women's wing
president Anita G Suvarna, Kulala Sangha Mumbai women's wing president Sumathi S Banjan, Rajaka Sangha Mumbai women's wing president Shubha D Gujaran, Karnataka Vishwakarma Association Mumbai women's wing president Usha G Munnooru, Padmashali Samaja Seva Sangha Mumbai women's wing executive president Madhumathi Shettigar, Bhandari Seva
Samithi women's wing president Lalitha V Bhandary, Mulund Bunts women's wing executive president Dr Satya S Shetty, Stree Shakthi Mahila Mandali Thane president Usha Hegde and Chennai's S R M Hospital head Dr Sandhya Vasan were present.

“The part played by women in a family is important. So the part played by women in groups and associations is also prominent. Service has enabled the elevation of associations and may the sangha progress in the guidance of elders and service by juniors”, said Shubha Gujaran in her speech.

Dr Satya Shetty speaking on the occasion said that Thiya Samaja president Chandrashekar Belchada is disciplined and sticks to his word. “He is also a person who does not use the word 'no'. He acts as he speaks. The talents in the Thiya Samaja are different from
professionals. May the society progress by such children. May the women in it lighten the society as the guide,” he said.

“Forums such as these strengthen the relationships. The cooperation of men is necessary for the unity of women and may the women show their strength in a male dominated society”, said Usha Hegde.

“Thiya Samaja should be grown in lines of other societies. It is possible if youth is encouraged”, said Dr Sandhya.

“It is good to say that the community is of talented decent people than saying that it is of minority. With the arrival of women of different communities, our association does not look inferior to others,” said Chandrashekar Belchada in his presidential address.

Honorary Chief secretary Ail Babu, Honorary Chief treasurer Ramesh N Ullal, western zonal regional committee executive president Gangadhar Kalladi, Youth wing executive president Harsha Chandrashekar, Thiya Belaku editor Sridhar S Suvarna, Arogyanidhi executive president Thimmappa K Bangera, Rajani A Suvarna, Sujatha S Uchil and others
present on the occasion, spoke on context. They appreciated for having
honored women in a suitable forum encouraging them and praised their
service.

Well known businessman of Thiya Samaja, donor Rohidas S Bangera was awarded 'Thiya Kularathna' title by the guests for his unique service in the society. Considering the uninterrupted service of two decades, member K P Arvind, first executive president of western zone and founder of women's wing and present secretary Ail Babu and Indira
Babu, Chandrashekar Belchada and Divija Chandrashekar couple, active women social workers and western zone honorary secretary Chandra M Suvarna and eastern zone former women's executive president Vrinda Dinesh and western zone women's wing executive president Divya
Ramachandra Kotian were felicitated on the occasion.

Women members of the association and children presented dances as part of the entertainment programme. Kala Saurabha team presented 'Samskrathika Vaibhava' under the direction of Padmanabha Sasihitlu. Western zone regional committee executive president Gangadhar Kalladi
offered pooja to Bhagavathi and Brahmashree Guru Narayana deities in the beginning of the programme.

Divya R Kotian welcomed and gave a key note address. Jagadish Puttur led the prayer. Divija Chandrashekar, Sapna G Uchil, Pratima Bangera, Sujatha Uchil and Hema Bangera introduced the guests. Pushpa Kotian,Suchitra Kotian, Rajni A Suvarna, Padmini Kotekar,Yashavanthi Suvarna, Yashavanthi Uchil and leaders of various divisions and office bearers offered flower bouquets to guests and felicitated them. Padmanabha Sasihitlu and Vishwanath U K introduced the felicitated. Divija Chandrashekar and Sridhar S Suvarna conducted cultural programme. Ishwar Ail compered the programme in the hall.

Several Thiya community members, executive committee, committee of trustees, sub committee and regional committee members present on the occasion helped in the success of the programme. Women's wing executive president Divya R Kotian, sub committee executive president Sujatha S Uchil and Chandra M Suvarana proposed vote of thanks.
