Rainy Saturday in Delhi, clear Sunday ahead


New Delhi, Jan 3 (IANS): The national capital saw an overcast Saturday with some rain. The Met office has forecast a clear sky with moderate fog in the morning Sunday.

"There will be moderate to dense fog Sunday morning. However, a partly cloudy sky will become mainly clear from morning onward. Very light rain or thundershowers may occur till night," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The maximum and minimum temperatures Sunday are likely to hover around 17 and 10 degrees Celsius respectively.

The visibility Saturday morning was 500 meters, which delayed train movement while no flight was cancelled or diverted.

According to the Northern Railways, 30 trains coming to the city were delayed while 12 were rescheduled and four cancelled.

The day's maximum humidity was recorded at 98 percent.

The maximum temperature settled at 16.8 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season's average. The minimum temperature settled at 13.8 degrees Celsius, seven notches above the season's average.

The city received 7 mm of rainfall since Friday.

Friday's maximum temperature was 16 degrees Celsius, five notches below the season's average and the minimum temperatures settled at 10.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average.
