Shirdi, Jan 5(Zee News): NCP leader Praful Patel on Sunday said that right-wing organisations, including VHP and RSS, were creating trouble for the Narendra Modi government through their "religious programmes".

"BJP won Lok Sabha polls and formed the government at the Centre with the backing of right-wing Hindu organisations like VHP, RSS and Bajrang Dal. However, these outfits are now creating trouble for the Centre through their religious programmes," Patel told reporters after a visit to the Sai Baba temple here.

"While the Centre is maintaining that it will take everybody along, these outfits are speaking a different language. Hence, there is confusion among people about whom to believe," said the former Union Minister.

Patel said his party has been opposing conversions as it believes in?secular principles. He further averred that since the Modi government has just completed seven months in office, it would not be proper to talk about its functioning.

"We will not oppose the government just for the sake of doing so, but will certainly speak against it whenever it takes wrong decisions," he said.

The NCP leader also pointed out that despite a reduction of 50 percent in oil prices on the international market, the prices of petrol and diesel have come down by only 10 to 15 percent in India.

On the issue of corruption charges against some NCP leaders in Maharashtra, he said, "BJP, which was earlier in the opposition in the state and is now ruling it, is free to make inquiries into these allegations."

Also, commenting on the controversy over the Aamir Khan-starrer 'PK', Patel said, "In our country, everybody has the right to express himself. If people find any scenes or language objectionable, we should approach the court instead of attacking cinema houses. I have seen the movie myself and did not find anything objectionable in it."
