Mangalore, Dec 15: The Dakshina Kannada Cooperative Milk Producers' Union Limited decided at a meeting, convened by the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), of all milk producer unions in the district, to effect a hike in the price of milk by one rupee per litre from Friday.

However, the old rates will continue to be printed on milk packets until the stocks of the existing milk sachet films run out, the meeting decided.

The managing director of the milk producers' union, in a press release here on Thursday, urged all consumers to cooperate with the milk vendors and pay according to the revised rates.
