Sunny weather raises mercury in Himachal


Shimla, Jan 6 (IANS): The hills of Himachal Pradesh Tuesday saw a further rise in the temperatures due to long sunny days. The Met Office here forecast dry weather for a few days.

The state capital saw a rise in night temperature. It saw a low of 6.1 degrees Celsius, which is a rise from Monday's 4.3 degrees, the weather office said.

Keylong in Lahaul-Spiti district was the coldest place in the state with a low of minus 5.7 degrees against Monday's minus 8.9 degrees.

Kalpa in Kinnaur district recorded a low of minus 4 degrees, while it was 4 degrees in Dharamsala, 5.6 degrees in Dalhousie and 2.5 degrees in Chamba.

Certain locations in Kufri, Narkanda and Manali are still wrapped under the blanket of snow that fell earlier.
