Mangalore, Dec 15: The deputy commissioner's court has now issued notice to dismissed Congress corporators Kavita Sanil and James D'Souza with regard to the pandemonium that stalled 2 MCC meets recently. As per the notice both will have to appear before the DC's court at 3 pm on Tuesday December 19 for an enquiry.
As reported earlier, Kavita Sanil and James D'Souza were suspended from Congress for having not abided by the whip issued by the party. But they had refused to sit in separate seats during the MCC meetings with a view that they had not received suspension order. They were supported by BJP which had led to uproar during the meeting.
Accordingly MCC chief whip K Krishnappa Mendon had filed a complaint with the deputy commissioner's (magistrate) court under the Karnataka Local Bodies Anti-defection Act which was accepted by DC M Maheshwar Rao who has now fixed December 19 for enquiry. Both plaintiffs and defendants have been asked to be present in the court with necessary documents either personally or through their respective lawyers.
