Mangalore, Dec 15: The psychiatry activity centre of KMC Hospital, Attavar here was inaugurated by deputy mayor Abdul Saleem on Friday December 15.
KMC dean Dr C V Raghuveer and COO Dr Sunil Deshpande were the guests of honour on the occasion. Head of the department of Psychiatry Dr Ravish Tunga delivered the welcome address.
The activity centre will provide holistic care to mentally ill patients with facilities like rehabilitation, occupational and recreational activities in psychiatry setup.
On the same occasion, consultation liaison Psychiatry service was launched by Dr Raghuveer. The service provides holistic care to the patients who have primnarily medical problems along with psychological distress.
Dr Supriya Hegde made a presentation on Liaison Psychiatry. Dr Elizabeth Daniel proposed the vote of thanks while Mariella D’Souza compered.
